Issue: Error Message "Path is Not Valid" when Starting Toolbox

Issue: Error Message "Path is Not Valid" when Starting Toolbox

If you receive the error, The path is not valid. Check the directory for the database, go through the following steps.

This indicates that the path to your Microvellum data is not correct, and the program cannot access or find the Microvellum Factory.sdf file. To fix this do the following:

  1. Open up the registry and go to this location…
  2. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microvellum\Toolbox\R7.0\Toolbox-Standard\ApplicationSettings
This path might slightly vary depending on whether you have OEM or Standalone AutoCAD installed.
  3. In the application Settings directory, find LastConfig and look to what value it is set to. The Default is Toolbox Imperial or Toolbox Metric.
  4. Depending on what your LastConfig was set to, browse to that location in the Configurations Directory.
  5. (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microvellum\Toolbox\R7.0\Toolbox-Standard\Configurations\Toolbox Imperial)
  6.  In the Configuration, find  PathToMicrovellumData . Double click on it to modify it. It should be set to the Microvellum Data folder. The default path is:
  7. "C:\Users\%UserProfile%\AppData\Local\Microvellum\Toolbox 7\R7.0\Microvellum Data"
  8. Shut down the registry and restart AutoCAD. It should run normally. If it does not, please contact a Microvellum Technical Support Agent.
