Microvellum Foundation Library Release Notes | Build 25.0703
The following release notes apply to the Microvellum Foundation Library build 25.0703.
Additions
- Added a rebate (rabbet) to the bottom edge of top Nailers to create a notch that functions as a Hanging Cleat. This feature is globally controlled and can be enabled per cabinet type (Base, Tall, Upper). The depth and width of the rebate is globally controlled as well. Added five new Global variables:
- “Top Nailer Rebate Width”
- “Top Nailer Rebate Depth”
- “Rebate Upper Top Nailer”
- “Rebate Tall Top Nailer”
- “Rebate Base Top Nailer”
- Added a new product, the Master Diagonal Vertical Designer Cabinet.
- Added a new Miterfold Edge option to Adjustable and Fixed shelf interior components.
- Added Drawing Icon for easier access to “2D Instructions" subassembly prompts.
- Added five new global variables for additional control over CAD Dim Styles and Section Text Layers:
- “Dimension_Style_Options”
- “Plan_Dimension_Style”
- “Elevation_Dimension_Style”
- “Section_Dimension_Style”
- “Section_Text_Layer”
- If any of the above are set to "Template", the corresponding 2D drawing token will default to the dimension style specified in the drawing template (e.g., MV Annotative).
- Text styles are currently setup throughout the 2D drawing tokens. Many of the subassemblies had hard values for the layer. We have gone through most of them and fixed this.
- “Filler Text Alignment” and “Finished End Text Alignment” have been changed to a dropdown Options: “0|1|2”. This has been corrected as before we had it as an offset.
- Added several new enhancements to the Wall room component:*
- Added the ability to have up to 4 windows and 4 doors per wall.
- Added plumbing for waste pipes and tap outlets in the wall.
- Added the option to have up to 4 electrical outlets in the wall.
- Added elevation dimensions to the wall and elevation label. Users can either use the system wall variables or turn them on in the Wall product for better control.
- Added Rakks Vanity Brackets to the ADA Sink Angled Frame product.
- Added features to the Bracket products:
- Added A & M Concealed Support Brackets to the Bracket subassembly. New materials added.
- Bracket Array and Bracket Single products now both use the Bracket subassembly for easier maintenance.
- Improved the structure to support both generic brackets and name branded brackets via a LookUpTable.

- “Small Door Threshold” - Defines the maximum height at which a door is considered "small."
- “Hinge Location Small Doors” - Specifies the reduced distance from the top and bottom edges for hinge placement on small doors.
- If a door’s height is less than the "Small Door Threshold", the hinge positions will be calculated using the Hinge Location Small Doors value instead of Hinge Location Bottom and Hinge Location Top.
- Added new global variable “Dado Clearance Position Regular Dado" to provide better control over dado clearance gaps and which direction they go. The settings below determine how the clearance is oriented relative to the cabinet part receiving the dado:
- Outside – Applies the clearance to the outer side of the panel (away from the cabinet's interior).
- Inside – Applies the clearance to the inner side of the panel (facing the cabinet interior).
- Both Sides – Applies an equal clearance on both sides of the dado, centering the cut.

- Added missing “Product_Type” variable.
- Corrected drawer front calculator issue.
- “Use Aluminium Handle” prompt added.
- Resolved the following issues with Five Piece Door subassembly:
- Flat center panel will now have the correct Y origin.
- 2D elevations will now show the door outline when door construction is set to “Single Panel”.
- Resolved an issue with Peka Base Pullouts. When changing from Right to Left hand, the drilling will now be correct.
- Resolved an issue with the LeMans II Pullout related to regional and face frame differences.
- Updated the remaining waste bins to include the 2D help text warning showing why it does not fit.
- Updated the Kessebohmer Magic Corner II and graphics. The hardware will no longer have front drilling, as this is behind doors.
- Added the Kessebohmer Magic Corner to the blind corner pullout list.
- Resolved a naming issue for the Kessebohmer Conero 72H Comfort Tray Pull Out and Kessebohmer Conero 72H Internal Pull Out. The product names now align with both the drawing DWGs and the associated hardware names.
- Resolved an issue with Wastebin Pullout prompts. The issue was caused by the Control type date using data from “G!Default_Double_Waste_Bin_Pullout”, when it should have been using “G!Waste_Bin_Pullout_Options”.
- Resolved an issue with Upper cabinets. Selecting the Lift Up face option will now always work.
- Resolved an issue with 2D Plan Dimension tokens involving Applied Ends and Fillers.
- Resolved an issue with 2D Elevation tokens for cabinets with Applied End option.
- Resolved regression issues with several subassemblies — including Any Angled Shelf Fixed, Angled End Shelf Fixed, Diagonal Angled Shelf Fixed, Angled Shelf Fixed, and Open Corner Shelf Fixed. These issues arose following updates made to the Shelf Fixed subassembly during the implementation of the magic wire options. At that time, prompt information was copied into these additional subassemblies, even though they do not support the magic wire feature.
- Improved Institutional Hinges so they now respond to the “@” symbol (with distance value) in the hinge name. If the symbol is not there, the “Hinge Distance From Side” will be 0.
- Simplified control for Double Division in 3-Door Cabinets. The "Double Mullion" prompt is now the primary control for enabling the double division feature in 3-door cabinets. When selected, it will automatically activate the double division option within the Horizontal Splitter subassembly. Previously, the feature was controlled through the "Double Division" prompt, which was also linked to the “Double Mullion” setting. This setup created confusion, as users had to check both prompts to confirm the feature was turned on.
- The Component Folding Doors subassembly will now draw correctly in 2D Elevation.
- Resolved an issue with the Access Panel subassembly. The "Access Panel Depth" was hidden instead of the "Access Panel Width" when using "Place Left Side" or "Place Right Side". Front to Back should use "Access Panel Depth", Left to Right should use "Access Panel Width", and Bottom to Top should use "Access Panel Height".
- The ability to resize drawer parts with a rebate if they exceed 16mm has been added to other runners such as Blum MOVENTO.
- Resolved an issue with the Titus Tekform Slimline drawer system. “Space Required Under Drawer Bottom” changed from 32mm to 26mm to match manufacturer specs.
- Updated the Harn ALUNAN T and Harn Ritma Cube to include new and accurate bottom drilling as provided by Harn.
- Resolved an issue with Wood Drawer Box subassemblies when using the “Plant On Bottom” feature. Slide holes will now remain in the correct location.
- Improved drawer rear cutout feature so drill machining remains on face 5 only.
- The “Screw Construction” for the Horizontal Splitter subassembly has been updated to accommodate the small part threshold.
- Changes and improvements made to the Internal Drawers With Faces component insert:
- The drawer material is now linked to the OpenID. This ensures that when the insert is placed into a standard cabinet, the drawer fronts will automatically default to the carcass material.
- A new “Filler Material” prompt has been added, providing control over the side filler material directly through prompts.
- In the Finish Faces subassembly, a “Finish_Faces_Layer” prompt has been introduced. This allows the layer assignment to be controlled via prompt values.
- Improvements made to the Drawer Box List Report.
- Resolved an issue with cut size values appearing incorrectly on Part Labels when the processing station Premill Type is set to “Edgeband Thickness”. All labels have been updated to use the Adjusted Cut Part sizes so the size will account for the correct premill value.
- Altered the way Mitered Side Front Edges behave on Corner Diagonal cabinets. When this option is selected, the left and right cabinet depths now reflect the outside edge of the mitered sides. Side widths now include the angular projection.
- Resolved issue in Corner Cabinets involving the rear corner notch. Parts will now avoid face 6 machining for the drill holes.
- Added missing graphics for Olympus 700S locks.
- The prompts in the Project Wizard for “Base_Door”, “Tall_Door”, and “Upper_Door” have been updated to represent a buyout material when ticking the “Buyout_Door” prompt.
- Updated the Chamfer Cabinet Modifications for the left, right, and both sides to work correctly when checking the finished Chamfer Left or Right. This will now work with different thickness sides vs the back.
- The “Edit Part Materials” prompt has been fully removed from all products and subassemblies. This was a legacy prompt that no longer served a meaningful function in the current product structure. Historically, the prompt was used primarily to disable the material prompts, and the thickness prompts would look directly at the material pointer when it was unticked. However, it was inconsistently applied—none of the face frame products utilized it, and most thickness prompts did not reference it. As part of this cleanup:
- All control types and material pointer references still relying on “Edit_Part_Materials” have been updated.
- Thickness prompt formulas were simplified as part of this removal, improving overall clarity and reducing unnecessary dependencies.
- Resolved machining issues and added improvements to the ADA Sink Angled Frame product.
- Angled Route Polylines: Polylines have been updated so that when the corner radius is set to 0, the associated corner radius vector is now fully removed from the route. Previously, a 0-length vector remained, which caused issues during machining or toolpath generation.
- Independent Radius Control: All corner radii in the polyline can now be toggled independently.
- Toe Kick Radius Option: A new prompt has been added to control the internal radius where the bottom of the panel meets the top of the toe kick. This was previously tied to the general corner radius, but now you can adjust it separately for more precise detailing.
Additions/Resolutions Face Frame Cabinetry
- Added new products Master Corner Vertical Designer Cabinet FF & Master Diagonal Vertical Designer Cabinet FF. Along with the new designer products, several subassemblies have been created:
- Component Corner Doors FF
- Component Diagonal Doors FF
- Face Frame Shelves - These shelves have been created as bay splitters behind the face frame mid rails. They act the same as a vertical splitter, with a small difference; they are designed to be placed behind mid rails. With the ability to change the fixed shelf condition behind the rails, with options: No Shelf|Centered|Top|Bottom|Double
- Corner Shelf Fixed FF
- Diagonal Angled Shelf Fixed FF
- You can control the position of the shelf using these conditions:
- No Shelf: Disables the face frame shelf entirely—no splitter is placed.
- Centered: Places the shelf centered directly behind the mid rail.
- Top: Aligns the shelf to the top edge of the mid rail.
- Bottom: Aligns the shelf to the bottom edge of the mid rail.
- Double: Places two shelves—one at the top edge and one at the bottom edge of the mid rail.
- The Diagonal Angled Face Frame, Corner Face Frame, and Diagonal Face Frame have been updated to accommodate the mid rails in the new designer cabinets.
- Improvements made to Component Drawers FF:
- Draw Intermediate Rails: Enables drawing and machining of each intermediate rail. If unchecked, rails are omitted, but drawer spacing remains intact.
- Intermediate Rail Extension Left / Right: Extends the intermediate rail into adjacent bays, allowing alignment or bridging across openings.
- Resolved a Face Frame overlay issue in the Master Split Height Designer Cabinet FF. The Component Drawers subassembly in the first bay had an issue with the “Face_Frame_Right_Overlay”. When using “Face_Frame_Division_Overlay_Control_Stile_1” ="Right", it was not deducting the “Thickness_Division”. All the other bays are correct.
- Resolved an issue with Master Horizontal Designer Cabinet FF. Interior components will now properly follow the correct Face Frame Division Overlay Control for each bay.
- Resolved an issue with the 2D Draw tokens in the Base Corner Cabinet FF. The depth dimension was accounting the “Applied_End_Thickness_Right” value. When used in the face frame products, should just be the depth.
- Updated all FF Drawer Bank Cabinets to have the same drawer calculator order as the frameless cabinets. (Top, Bottom, 2nd, etc.). This order will ensure accuracy should the user change the number of drawers after calculating.

Microvellum Foundation Library Release Notes | Build 25.0319
The following release notes apply to Microvellum Foundation Library build 25.0319.
This update introduces many new global variables. Any existing projects will naturally not contain these new variables, causing issues when adding new products to these projects. Because of this, Microvellum recommends doing one of three options:
- Finish out all projects before updating to this library version
- Update library, then revert the global file within each active project. You will need to redo any previously made global settings.
- Update library, then identify and add all the newly added global variables from the template to your custom project global file. (advanced)
Additions
- Added the ability to control the language of most all product part name strings.
- Currently supports English, French, Spanish.
- Added a new Lookup Table to the Factory workbook, “LookupTablePartNames”.
- Added a new Global Variable, “Region Language”.
- This setting can also be used to abbreviate or change the English name/phrase of all product parts.
After updating your library to this build, you will need to revert the Global File within any existing project using the previous version. Or alternatively, one can manually add the “Region Language” variable to avoid errors in part names.
- Added 18 new global variables for greater control over default cabinet top & bottom conditions:
- “Base Overlay Top”
- “Base Full Top”
- “Base Rails”
- “Base Overlay Bottom”
- “Base Full Bottom”
- “Base No Bottom”
- “Tall Overlay Top”

Modifications
- Modified the rear notch on the Front Stretchers to match the Rear Stretchers. The notch will now look at "G!Dado_Small_Part_Notch_Distance_To_Rear_Edge".
- Replaced many M2U functions throughout the library with UCN to prevent undesirable default imperial values from appearing. For example, instead of “=M2U(1,Accuracy)" which results in “0.03937” inches, we now use “=UCN(0.0312,1)” or “=UCN(0.0625,1)” which provides fractional values (1/32” or 1/16”) more commonly used by imperial users.
These changes will not affect metric users. However, for imperial users, some default variables might change slightly in new library installs. M2U values that match specific hardware specifications have not been changed.*
- Changed how the globals “Back Width Adjustment” & “Back Height Adjustment” behave when they are both used together with Full Applied backs. The back sizes will adjust, however the X & Z origins will remain flush with the left side and bottom of cabinet. This will prevent any associative screw hole machining issues.
- All drawers updated to use "G!Drawer_Bottom_Hole_Depth" for the Bottom Hole Depth instead of a fixed value.
- Wood Drawers now use "G!Drawer_Box_Dowel_Target_Spacing" instead of "VLOOKUP(PARTMACHINEY(),G!LookupTableTargetSpacingDowels,2,TRUE)"
- Default value for "G!Drawer_Box_Dowel_Target_Spacing" changed to "UCN(3.7795,96)"
- For Solid Wood Drawer fronts, Stiles and Rails will now be the same width by default.*
Resolutions General
- Resolved the Solid Wood Door "Add Finish Label" prompt to match Finished Faces subassembly. The prompt will now correctly display one label per product when global “Finish Label Condition” = “Product”.
- Resolved an issue with all Finished Face/MV Profile Door/Solid Wood Door subassemblies referencing an incorrect column in the Door Wizard "D!LookUpTableDoorStyle" table. Various parameters such as “Default Top Rail Width” will now correctly reference the Door columns when it’s a door and the Drawer columns when it’s a drawer front.*

- All updated to work with a backing rail.
- The prompt “Add Wrapped Batten” in all products has been changed to “Add Backing Rail” to avoid confusion with the main Wrapped Batten feature.
- Added the ability to have the backing rail in-between the cabinet sides.
- Drawer Stretchers will now sit behind the shadow rails.
- Added SEARCH functions to look for "L-Shape", "Solid Rail" and "Batten" If the name of the profile has "Solid Rail" in the name it will use machinable parts. If "Batten” is in the name, it will change the backing rail to a wrapped batten. If the name has "L-Shape" it will turn on parts to create an L-shaped shadow rail. With this setup, users can easily create their own shadow rail features by adding rows to D!LookUpTableShadowline.
- Added three new Shadow Rail profile styles:
- L Shape Solid Rail with Backing Rail
- Gola Standard
- Gola Zero Radius
- Mounting clips added, and 3 new columns to the lookup table in the door wizard for the position of the clip and the type.
- Added two additional Sink Faucet options.
- Added a new global variable, “Use Simple Face Frame”. This will now turn on a simple face frame when the doors are inset and “G!Inset Door Setback” is less than 0.
- Added an appliance panel option to the Fridge product. Note that the default sizes are generic and will need to be modified to match appliance manufacture’s specs.
- Added a double Facia (False Front) feature to all Sink Cabinets, the Master Cabinet, and several other base cabinets.
- Added a new frameless master cabinet: Master Split Height Designer Cabinet.
- Added six new global variables to control the inset backs left and right on corner cabinets:
- “Base Left Corner Inset Back”
- “Base Right Corner Inset Back”
- “Tall Left Corner Inset Back”
- “Tall Right Corner Inset Back”
- “Upper Left Corner Inset Back”
- “Upper Right Corner Inset Back”
- Added a new global variable, “Thick Backs Top and Bottom Use Default Construction Method”. With this selected, the top and bottom machining on thick backs will look at the default Construction Method Top and Construction Method Bottom. This will address certain challenges that are encountered when configuring cabinet back machining when the method differs from the carcase machining.
- Added the "Use Aluminium Handles" prompt to all products with handles. Previously this was only able to be activated from the Door Wizard.
- Added a Library Change Log to a worksheet in the Factory workbook. This can be used to track & document custom library changes and/or feature requests. Also useful for MV technical support agents or service providers to review information about your library.
Modifications
- Modified the “Cabinet Leveler” feature inside the Notched Toe Kick subassembly. Materials for “EZ Level” have been renamed and the SA info has been updated to better reflect the needed hardware quantities and names for ordering.
- Drawer Divisions within Door/Drawer cabinets will now only contain horizontal dowel/screw holes where they meet up with stretchers above or below.
- Modified the "Internal_Profile_Lead" location inside center pocket tool path of MDF Profile Doors. Lead in should no longer interfere with the rail detail in small doors/drawer fronts.
- Toe kick assembly boxes have been updated to look at the global variables "Toe Kick End Offset", "Toe Kick Finished End Offset" and "Toe Kick Back Offset". Added new global variables for the Adjustable Leg subassemblies as they were looking at the Toe kick offsets. New global variables have been added:
- “Adjustable Leg End Offset”
- “Adjustable Leg Finished End Offset”
- “Adjustable Leg Back Offset”
- Updated the hinge plate setback as well as the door reveals in the Diagonal and Transition cabinets. Default results should be improved in these scenarios.
- Resolved issues when adding a Component Door insert into an opening.
- The Prompts "Is_DivisionLeft", "IS_Division_Right", "Is_Shelf_Top", "Is_Shelf_Bottom" are now visible prompts on the Construction Options tab.
- The Prompts "Left_Hinge_Overlay" and "Right_Hinge_Overlay" have been updated as well as the "Left_Reveal_Overhang" and "Right_Reveal_Overhang". The overlays will now calculate correctly when changing the Left and Right hinge overlay types. Previously the “Hinge_Overlay” and “Reveal_Overhang” prompts were disconnected with one another.
Resolutions General
- Resolved numerous issues and inconsistencies with all drawer system subassemblies. Reviewed, compared, and conducted extensive testing within each drawer subassembly. Some items addressed (not a complete list):
- Resolved issues with switching between back over bottom and back around bottom construction.
- Reduced complexity of (Space_Required_Under_drawer_Bottom) Formulas, verified they were subtracting (Reduce_Bottom_Thickness)
- All Drawer Systems now contain 3SIDEDCUTOUT for center notch function.
- All drawer system bottoms that receive rout machining to size the thickness are now using a 4-sided cutout token on the part instead of an associative Dado token from a phantom part. This solves some reported Toolbox post processing (nesting) issues.
- Many other issues resolved.
- Global "ADA Sink Toe Kick Options" category no longer missing from Library Update.
- Resolved an issue with sink cutout graphic not displaying in 3D.
- Resolved an issue with Extruded Toe Kick Base when used on a 90° blended radius.
- Resolved a misspelled prompt in Drawer Stretcher subassembly (Strectcher Width).
- Resolved issue with applied finished ends not displaying in 2D elevation view of product. Also corrected elevation dimension that occurred in certain circumstances.
- All Extruded Products using legacy "G!Default_Routing_Tool_CW" variable have now been updated to use "G!Default_Cutting_Tool".
- When certain adjacent cabinets were processed together, Perfect Grain Container errors would sometimes appear. This was due to the system trying to perfect grain match all the adjacent panels onto the same container and exceeded the size of available sheet stock. To prevent this, all designer cabinet products now have their “Perfect Grain Container” option defaulted to “None”. Users will be able to set the “Perfect Grain Container” as needed.
- When adding glass to the MV Profile Door, the layer name used has been corrected to “Door_Glass”.
- Resolved issue in the Component Drawers subassembly that affected the “Left/Right Reveal” variables.
- Adjusted the IF PEANUT 3 Invisible Fastener machining to match manufacture’s specifications.
- Resolved an issue in Open End cabinets. Dowel/Screw machining will no longer be missing in certain conditions.
- Resolved an adjustable shelf line bore hole issue inside Transition Angle cabinets when back machining was required with Continuous Shelf Holes option selected.
- Resolved a 2D cross section dimension detail when changing the door bottom reveal.
- Resolved a small calculation issue inside the Cost Based Reports related to the waste factor.
Additions/Resolutions Face Frame Cabinetry
- Changed the behavior within Face Frame cabinets wherein changing End Condition to “Applied End” or “Face Frame” the side face frame overlay control will switch to “Outside Control”.
- Updated the Face Frame subassembly to include the "Left_Stile_Scribe_Amount" and "Right_Stile_Scribe_Amount" in the stile size and the overall dim within the automated generated 2D Face Frame image and 2D elevation drawing of products.
- Applied Panel FF will now extend in the correct direction when using the “Extend Front Edge” prompt.
Additions/Resolutions Closet/Wardrobe
- Added additional global variables to better control the desired Cleat options.
- “Closet Top Cleat”
- “Closet Center Cleat”
- “Closet Bottom Cleat”
- “Closet Individual Cleats”
- “Closet Full Cleats”
- “Closet Full Top Cleat”
