Microvellum Release Notes | Build 25.2.0330.641

The following release notes apply to Microvellum build 25.2.0330.641.

Formula Editor Fix

  1. There was a recurring issue wherein attempting to edit any formula within the Part Properties of the software would result in an error. This would only occur when attempting to edit a formula within Part Properties specifically. This issue has been resolved and should no longer occur for users attempting to edit formulas in Part Properties.

Product Prompts UI Fix

  1. Some users reported experiencing an issue with some of the new features added to the Product Prompts UI in Microvellum build 25.2.0317.641. Namely, the “Save” button and “Redraw Products” checkbox would sometimes disappear after editing or drawing a product for the first time in a session. This issue has been resolved- the button and checkbox should now remain visible even after the initial drawing.

  1. An issue with the Product Prompts UI was reported wherein hitting the Enter key multiple times within the interface would result in an unending loop of errors occurring in succession, requiring one to restart the software to fix. This issue has been resolved and should no longer occur for users

Template Fix

  1. There was an issue reported by users utilizing the Microvellum 2D template. Namely, during processing, users would experience an error when attempting to nest on Toolbox AC Standard in more recent builds, stating that there was a duplicate record name in the software. This issue did not occur while using Microvellum BSB. This issue has been resolved- a coding adjustment has been applied to Microvellum AC to prevent this issue from happening.

Perfect Graining Fix

  1. Users reported there was a problem with specific saws, wherein operations with perfect graining using specific saws as one’s output would generate G-code with no perfect graining information. This issue has been resolved, and perfect graining information should now appear correctly.
  2. Another issue with perfect graining was reported, wherein some users who selected “Combine CSV XLS” as their conversion type would experience an object reference error during processing. This issue has been resolved, and this error should no longer occur.

Error Warning Fix

  1. When experiencing a processing error during an operation, a pop-up warning alerting users to the error should appear, with a “Do Not Show Again” checkbox within it that allows users to prevent warnings from appearing again. Some users reported that this was not the case, with the various error warnings not having the checkbox present, leading to issues of warning pop-ups appearing repeatedly. This issue has been resolved. The "Do Not Show Again" box should appear whenever appropriate in pop-up warnings.

Vertical Drill Hole Improvement

  1. Users reported an issue with slow nesting speed due to the optimizer processing vertical drill holes less efficiently. To address this, compounding on the improvements made in Microvellum release 25.2.0317.641, further improvements have been made to the optimization results of the vertical drill hole optimizer. This may result in more precise and efficiently drilled hole groupings, though results will still vary depending on the tool configuration of one’s specific machine.

Toolfile Fixes

Multiple fixes were applied to issues reportedly occurring during processing that were specifically related Toolfiles and Processing Stations. The following issues have been resolved:
  1. An issue was reported wherein barcodes would erroneously be optimized with incorrect barcode numbers. Products with specific barcodes to indicate grouping would sometimes have characters (most often the prefix or first number of the code) drop from the number, leading to incorrect barcode data.
  2. There was reportedly an issue occurring for some users wherein work order processing would be interrupted by an error with the product or part geometry, resulting in the batch being unable to complete.
  3. There was a reported issue by users who attempted to process new G-code created from the composite of a completed work order, wherein elements of the data such as label position would inexplicably change in the data, leading to the operation stalling.
  4. An issue with tool compensation was reportedly occurring wherein the tool compensation of specific tools would sometimes be applied to the incorrect side of a part.
  5. Some users experienced an issue wherein border route machining would sometimes disappear. Namely, after modifying a work order and altering the position Face 6 machining, Face 5 border routing would be removed from the subsequent batch.
  6. An issue was noted with the image output of sawing tools within the Processing Station. When setting the image file paths of a sawing tool, it is expected that the file path settings will be preserved and occur regardless of whether the saw tool is used in a saw processing station or another type. However, it was noticed by some users that the image file would not be generated at the expected location when using a processing station other than the saw processing station.
  7. An issue was occurring during drilling operations, wherein some users would receive an error during processing stating that no drills are available within the software that can reach machined holes.
  8. Another issue with processing routes was reported, wherein parts with routes that were given an offset value would cause a collective error.
  9. An issue would sometimes occur wherein routes and routed holes processed in a batch with IRIB enabled would have erroneous tool compensation, resulting in incorrectly placed routes or holes.

Optimizer Fixes

Multiple fixes were applied to issues reportedly occurring during processing that were specifically centered around the Microvellum optimizer. The following issues have been resolved:

  1. An issue was sometimes occurring during processing, wherein users would get an error message informing them that a material with perfect graining enabled was not found in the work order and therefore couldn’t be added to the perfect grain container.
  2. There was a reported issue with block nesting. Namely, when attempting to optimize using block nesting with the Max Qty Per Sheet setting at its minimum value (1), some users found they received multiple errors that interrupted optimization.

  1. A similar issue would occur for users attempting to process operations using Metric configuration, wherein an error would repeatedly appear stating that there were no suitable parts in the order. Both issues were resolved using the same fix.
  2. An error would sometimes occur when processing work orders using the Multi-Run Optimization option, with an error popping up stating that a specific number of parts were placed correctly without clarification.
  3. There was a reported issue occurring for some users utilizing specific processing stations for nesting their parts, wherein parts would sometimes not be placed correctly within the nest, resulting in an error.
  4. Users reported an issue processing certain parts in sawing operations, with the error claiming the perfect grain container in the operation was too large for any of the material sheets available, regardless of whether appropriate materials were available or not. This would result in the nesting operation being interrupted and unable to complete.
