Microvellum Release Notes | Build 26.1.0422.641

Microvellum Release Notes | Build 26.1.0422.641

The following release notes apply to Microvellum build 26.1.0422.641.

BSB 2026

  1. Microvellum BSB 2026 is now available for download and installation by users with an existing Microvellum BSB subscription. This new version of Microvellum is based on BricsCAD Pro 2026 and includes numerous stability improvements and bug fixes related to the BricsCAD platform. Visit the following article for more information on Microvellum BSB 2026.

Adaptive Nesting

Fig. 1: The Adaptive Nesting setting.

  1. A new setting has been added to the nesting options within nest Processing Stations: Adaptive Nesting. Adaptive nesting is a new setting able to be selected from the dropdown menu under “Optimization”. When selected for an operation, Adaptive Nesting runs the batch through Block Nesting, then True Shape Nesting automatically, comparing the results and setting the option that produced higher yield as the outcome. This removes the need for manual trial and error between the two options on the user end.

Dimensioning Fixes

Multiple issues surrounding the dimensioning of products have been identified and resolved.
  1. Users reported an issue wherein the dimensions of certain parts of a product would not appear in section drawings, such as doors. This issue was noticeably only occurring in Microvellum BSB and would only affect a single part at a time, with all other dimensions appearing correctly. This issue has been resolved; dimensioning should now appear correctly on all parts in section drawings.
  1. When creating product sections, it is expected that the Distance in Y from Product Origin to Cutting Plane value would be calculated to be positive. However, some users reported that the value would instead calculate to be negative when attempting to draw an elevation section. This issue has been resolved, and the value should no longer be negative unless specifically input as such.
  1. Another issue would occur in paper space when creating product sections. When drawing a product section with “Draw Facing Right” as the selected orientation, then redrawing the product in model space, the section drawing would disappear, displaying only a product outline. This issue has been resolved, and the drawing should appear correctly in paper space.

Multi-pass Tool Fix

  1. An issue was reported with multipass tools. When assigning a multipass tool to a part via material tool override, then copying parts to a new sheet and updating the G-code/creating new G-code, it is expected that the new G-code will have the same number of setmills/passes as the original sheet. This was found not to be the case, as doing this would instead result in passes being duplicated in the G-code. This issue has been resolved, and duplicate passes/setmills should no longer appear in G-code.

Associate Machining Fixes

A handful of issues relating to associative machining and machining tokens have been resolved.
  1. Some users experienced an issue when attempting to process work orders with cabinets that include both left and right doors. Namely, one of the doors would sometimes fail to have machining appear on it in the composite. This issue has been resolved, and doors should appear correctly in composite drawings.
  1. An issue was reported regarding parts not machining correctly. It is expected to be the case that when creating a work order with 2 parts that are placed on top of each other, both parts will correctly display their machining during cutting. However, some users found that their parts would display without machining in the composite and 2D drawings. This issue has been resolved, and parts placed on top of each other in 2D drawings should have machining appear correctly.
  1. There was a reported issue when creating products with a top and bottom part, wherein sometimes the 2D machining for the top part would not appear, and instead, the machining for the bottom part would be doubled. This issue has been resolved; machining should appear correctly on both the top and bottom of parts.

Grid View Fixes

Multiple issues were reported related to the grid view of the Processing Center, across BSB, AC, and the standalone Processing Center application.
Fig. 2: Batch names sorted incorrectly.
  1. When organizing batches that have been processed via the event log, users reported issues with sorting. It is expected that events and batch names will be sorted alphanumerically in grid view, with times in the event log being sorted chronologically, and batch names being sorted according to the number of the batch (B2, B3, B4, etc.) However, some users found this was not the case, with event logs and batch logs instead being erroneously organized according to the first digit. This issue has been resolved; items should now appear alphanumerically as intended.
  1. When setting up one’s grid view in the Processing Center, it is expected that users can select which columns to see. The most frequent minimum required column is the Project Name the products in the work order are selected from. If users select less than that, it is expected that they will be alerted that they need to select more columns to display, but otherwise, one should be able to save and exit with only the minimum. However, several users reported that attempting to reduce the number of columns selected would cause an error that would result in them being unable to make any column selections. This issue has been resolved and should no longer occur. Columns should be able to be selected without issue.
  1. When hiding specific Processing Stations in the grid view, it is expected that any hidden stations remain hidden once the view is saved. Some users reported that their view would reset each time they attempted to edit a new work order, however. This issue has been resolved, and the view should no longer reset.
  1. Some users had an issue when resizing the Product List UI. Namely, when viewing the Parts List, then resizing the window of the UI, the interface would switch to the Product List tab. This should no longer be the case; the UI should remain on the currently selected tab in the Product List UI.

Microvellum Palette Modification

  1. When switching between tabs in the Microvellum palette, it was previously the case that the Draw tab would reset to the Room Components tab after being switched away from then reopened. This is no longer the case, and the Draw tab will instead display the last vertical tab that was open.

Formula Driven Product Name Fix

  1. When editing the name of a formula driven product, it is expected that altering the name in the formula will alter the name of the product in the Product List. Some users found this was not the case, however, with the name not changing unless one opened and re-opened the Product List interface. This issue has been resolved; product names changed in formulas should result in immediate changes to the name in other connected interfaces.

File Name Fix

Fig. 3: A custom file name repeating and compounding with each batch.
  1. An issue was reported with specific file names. When setting a specific file name for batches via the Custom File Name Field in the IPP Settings, it is expected that the file name will remain consistent and only output what is entered. It was reported, however, that this would instead result in file names compounding with each successive batch, eventually resulting in a file name too long to be accepted as a file path. This issue has been resolved and should no longer occur.

Part List Fix

Fig. 4: A part list jumbled into a single line.
  1. When using the MVPARTLIST command, it is expected that the part list will be drawn in model space in an organized grid format. However, it was instead reported that the list of parts would instead be drawn in a jumbled, illegible fashion, with all the text placed together in a single line. This issue has been resolved; when creating a parts list using the command, it should now display properly.

Specification Groups Fix

Fig. 5: The Vendors option not working when opened in the Solid Stock library.
  1. There was a reported issue with the Vendors option in the Specification Group UI. Namely, when attempting to display information on vendors from the interface (visible from the Material File), clicking on the option would not open any subsequent windows or show any information. This occurred when clicking the option for any material library other than the Sheet Stock Library. This issue has been resolved, and vendors should now be accessible from all material libraries in the UI.

Processing Center Modification

  1. Previously, it was not possible to unhide messages in the standalone Processing Center application, if one selects the “Do Not Show Again” option in the pop-up. It is now possible to show messages that were previously hidden via the General tab of the Options.

System Language Fix

  1. When interacting with the language settings in the Windows setting and changing the Display language to anything other than English, it would sometimes cause users issues, due to language selection altering the layout of one’s keyboard. An error would appear when attempting to process a work order following a change to the language of the system. This issue has been resolved. There should no longer be issues with language changes, though it is still recommended close and restart any Microvellum software after a system language change.

Sawing Report Fix

  1. An issue was reportedly occurring for users utilizing a CPOUT output type for their sawing operations. When using a CPOUT output type and setting the output path to a local location, it was sometimes the case that the file name would not appear in reports, instead being blank. This issue has been resolved; the saw name should now appear as expected in reports.

Gannomat Fix

  1. Users processing orders with a Gannomat Database Writer installed experienced a recurring error with their file paths. Namely, it is expected for the software to alert users who have the MDB writer installed without the Microsoft Access Database Engine installed to receive a pop-up alerting them of this, along with a link to download the engine. Instead, several users found that they would receive an error claiming no database could be created at the assigned path they’d set using the Gannomat writer. This issue has been resolved. Users should now receive the intended pop-up directing them toward downloading the correct database management engine rather than an error.
