How to Modify a Product through the Prompts Interface
Modifying a Product Through the Prompts Interface
Once a product has been placed in a drawing, the Product Prompts interface will display.
- Specification Group Name – Allows you to assign a specification group to a product.
- Prompt Tabs – Switch through the different tabs to access other product options.
- Prompts Workspace – This space contains all the prompts for the products. Some prompts may become hidden or visible, depending on other options. By right-clicking in the blank area, you can access a menu that will allow you to access calculators, the subassembly list, and will enable you to refresh the interface to force recalculations.
Values displayed as red text, are formulated values.
- Product Details
- Item Number – Displays the item number . The item number will be automatically populated, but it can be overwritten.
- Quantity – Allows you to enter the number of products desired.
- Upon the initial draw, increasing the quantity will result in multiple products being drawn. After the product has been drawn, increasing the quantity will only increase the quantity for that product.
- Product Angle – Allow you to enter a value to rotate the product around the Z-axis. If the product is attached to a wall, this value will be automatically calculated.
- Height Above Floor - Allows you to enter a value signifying the height above the floor (0,0,0) that the product should be placed.
- Comments – Allows you to enter comments for the product. You can enter up to 3 comments, each separated by the pipe symbol.
- Prompt Help Text - Displays help text pertaining to the specific prompt that is currently selected or being hovered over.
- Help Image – A 3D Image of the cabinet being constructed, altering in response to changes made within the Product Prompts.
- Search – Allows you to search for a prompt within the product.
- Drawing Controls - The options here allow you to determine whether to redraw a product and close the Product Prompts UI.
- Redraw Product - Tick this checkbox to automatically redraw the product when changes are made in the prompts.
- Save - Saves the changes to the Product, but does not close the Product Prompts UI. This will not redraw the product unless "Redraw Product" is enabled.
- Save and Close - Saves and applies changes to the Product, then closes the Product Prompts UI. This will not redraw the product unless "Redraw Product" is enabled.
After a product has been drawn, you can continue to make modifications using the Product Prompts. You can access the prompts for a product by right-clicking in the Draw Products window. You can also select the Modify tab in Toolbox and select the Product Prompts under the Modify Products menu (or you can access them by clicking on the Product Prompts icon
