How to Modify a Product through the Prompts Interface
Modifying a Product Through the Prompts Interface
Once a product has been placed in a drawing, the Product Prompts interface will display.
- Specification Group Name – Allows you to assign a specification group to a product.
- Prompt Tabs – Switch through the different tabs to access other product options.
- Prompts Workspace – This space contains all the prompts for the products. Some prompts may become hidden or visible, depending on other options. By right-clicking in the blank area, you can access a menu that will allow you to access calculators, the subassembly list, and will enable you to refresh the interface to force recalculations.
Values displayed as red text, are formulated values.
- Item Number – Displays the item number . The item number will be automatically populated, but it can be overwritten.
- Comments – Allows you to enter comments for the product. You can enter up to 3 comments, each separated by the pipe symbol.
- Quantity – Allows you to enter the number of products desired.
Upon the initial draw, increasing the quantity will result in multiple products being drawn. After the product has been drawn, increasing the quantity will only increase the quantity for that product.
- Product Angle – Allow you to enter a value to rotate the product around the Z-axis. If the product is attached to a wall, this value will be automatically calculated.
- Search – Allows you to search for a prompt within the product.
After closing out of the Product Prompts window, the product(s) will draw.
After a product has been drawn, you can continue to make modifications using the Product Prompts. You can access the prompts for a product by right-clicking in the Draw Products window. You can also select the Modify tab in Toolbox and select the Product Prompts under the Modify Products menu (or you can access them by clicking on the Product Prompts icon
if you are using the tool-strip).
