Nesting refers to stacking components. It is the level of subordination of a component to another component. A component added to the Report Template that does not have a subordination will be considered a component of the first nesting level.
The level of nesting can be changed with the Master Component property. The databand to which a component will be subordinated can be selected in the field of the property.
One band may subordinate to a few bands. When this is the case, the subordinated bands will have the same level.
The nesting level of the DataBand determines the level of the HeaderBand, FooterBand, GroupHeaderBand, and/or GroupFooterBand that it is related to.
With the ReportTitleBand and ReportSummaryBand, the subordination is based on the location of the bands on the report page itself. For ReportTitleBand and ReportSummaryBand, it is impossible to make a collection of styles of the third or greater nesting levels.
For ReportTitleBand, the top band is the first nesting level, and every band below the first is the second nesting level.
For ReportSummaryBand, all the bands are considered the second nesting level except for the last band, which is considered the first nesting level.
PageFooterBands, as well as PageHeaderBands, can only create a first nesting level collection.
