The articles in this section of the Knowledge Base involve working with Empty Bands for display in your reports. To learn more about Empty Bands, and how to access this section within the Report Designer, see Understanding Empty Bands in Report Designer. The purpose of this article is to break down the different values for the Empty Band property, Size Mode.
The Size Mode property indicates the behavior of the Empty Band on the bottom of a page. There are four possible values for the property: Increase Last Row, Align Footer to Top, Decrease Last Row, and Align Footer to Bottom.
The Increase Last Row value stretches the final row to fill the page when there is not enough room for a complete new row.
The Decrease Last Row value adds a row with a decreased height to fill the page, instead of stretching the row before it.
With the Align Footer to Bottom value, if there is not enough space for a full row to be added, then no band is printed, leaving an empty gap between the Empty Data rows and the Footer.
The Align Footer to Top value adds an empty row if there isn’t room for a full one, but it connects the Footer to the last Empty Data row, leaving no gap between bands. The Footer bands are printed on the bottom, if the Print at Bottom property is enabled, but moved up to fill the free space.
