Improvements

Toolbox UI Overhaul

  1. OEM 2025 introduces several updates to the appearance and layout of various interfaces. These changes were made to maintain Toolbox OEM 2025's compatibility with AutoCAD 2025, which has transitioned from its .Net 4.x software development framework to the new .Net 8.0 framework, a major release of the .NET platform by Microsoft that offers improved performance, new features, and enhancements across the framework.
  2. As such, multiple different options and features within Toolbox (having been designed with the 4.x framework) needed to be re-coded and updated to ensure that clients will be able to use the software reliably well into the future.

Toolbox Palette

Among the many UI changes, the Toolbox palette has received a prominent overhaul to its appearance:
  1. No options or features have been removed from the palette, only relocated to enable a far cleaner, less cluttered workspace.
  2. The various options available on the quick menu have been converted to pop-out menus.
  3. Various tabs, such as the Draw, Modify, or Solid Modeling tab have been moved to smaller scale tabs at the top of the palette, and options within those tabs to interact with products or tools have been placed along the left and right edges of the palette interface.

Part Properties

Figure 3: The Part Properties interface of OEM 2024 (Left) vs OEM 2025 (Right).
  1. The Part Properties interface has received a similar update to its appearance, with multiple tabs such as Part Size, Origin + Rotation, Drawing Tokens, etc. being relocated to the left edge of the central interface, reducing visual clutter and enabling users to transition between different sections of the interface more smoothly.
  2. Similarly, no functions have been removed, only relocated.

Processing and Performance Improvements

  1. The speed at which products can be drawn, both in 2D and 3D, has improved in Toolbox OEM 2025. While results may vary from machine to machine, during testing, individual products that featured multiple blocks, such as hinges, drawer slides, appliances, etc., drew at a noticeably faster speed in OEM 2025 compared to OEM 2024.
