Installing Toolbox BSB

Installing Toolbox BSB

This article explains the process for installing Toolbox BSB. Before beginning installation, we recommend reviewing the system requirements for BSB, to ensure your device meets the minimum hardware requirements.
Warning
Toolbox BSB is not compatible with Windows Remote Desktop Service (RDS) environments. As such, if you happen to be using an RDS environment in your business, it is not recommended to attempt to install Toolbox BSB for use within it. This compatibility limitation does not apply to standard remote desktop connections made directly to a workstation.

Installation File

To download the installation file for Toolbox BSB, open the Microvellum Portal and visit the Software Management page. Under the ‘Licenses’ section, you should see the list of licenses available for you to download software from. If you have gained access to a BSB license, on the right side of the interface, there will be a bar listing the latest update for BSB or else the latest full install. Download the full install.

Installing BSB

Once the installation file has been downloaded, find the file in your downloads and prepare for installation.

1. Extract the files in the .zip package.
2. Right-click the Setup.exe file and select “Run as administrator."
3. The installation interface will pop up with a link to the latest public release notes. Click “Install”.
4. This will open the Setup Wizard. Click “Next”.

5. A page containing the End-User License Agreement (EULA) will appear. Copy the link to the EULA page, paste it into your browser, then read it. Once finished, check the box to agree to the terms in the License Agreement, and click “Next”.

6. Set the desired installation path within the interface and select "Install".

7. The interface will prompt you to select whether you want a BSB shortcut to be added to your desktop (Microvellum recommends that you do). Then, you will be able to select the specific file extensions you would like to associate with Toolbox BSB by default. Once your selections are complete, click "Next".

8. The installation process will then begin. The installer will search for any related applications installed on your device, calculate the appropriate storage space, and install the software. Once the installation reaches 100%, you will be notified and have the option to launch BSB immediately. If any alerts pop up regarding issues with the installation process, resolve them before repeating steps 2-9.
9. A Toolbox BSB icon should now appear on your desktop. The software is now ready for use.
10. You will be required to enter your License ID and Password upon first starting up the software. This information will be listed in the Software Management section of Microvellum Portal.

Notes
In the .exe file that starts the Toolbox BSB application, the software may be called “bricscad_bsb.exe”, not “toolbox_bsb.exe”. As such, when searching for the application, it may be required to search for “BricsCAD” rather than “Toolbox”.
