Is there any option to centralize the starting point of the shelf holes in the cabinets, in a way that the last hole is equidistant at the two edges?Adding Drawer Track and Bay Locations to the "Drawer Box List Report"
I have been asked to update the standard "Drawer Box List Report" that we generate for the shop with a few items to make it easier and provide more information. I am having some issues getting things to generate correctly or at all. I think these would also be good options to add into future reports so they are more robust and fully operational. Bay Locations Using the {Subassemblies.BayPosition} I am able to get the bay position number on the report. (71, 79, etc) While that is a start itPerfect Graining Accross Multiple Projects
When combining several projects together the doors get placed on top of each other. I think this has to do with the grain identifier number which uses the item number as a unique code. Once there are several projects selected, the item code is now being used across several products. One idea that I have is being able to add the project name in the Grain Identifier prompt or perhaps a unique MV project code.2D Part Layers
Can someone tell me where or how these layers are generated from in the 2D Parts editor? When you first add the machining, The machining is on the layer "ROUTE_Z0PXXXXXX". But once you save that part it adds the word RAMP at the end. I think this is normal but why is this? One of my PMs, has a problem that when he programs a part in MV it does not come over correctly in WoodWop. When we open the part in WoodWop, it's coming in with the "Tangential" approach. It needs to come over with the "Vertical"Multi Select Projects to Move / Delete / Change Status or Use Windows Explorer
In the current setup if you need to move, delete, or change status of several projects, it needs to be done one at a time. Using Database Management can help with deleting but only if you export it first. My suggestion is to have either a multi-select option or at least having ctrl / shift work to select multiple projects. Alternatively having a windows explorer location where creating new folders / modifying location / deleting projects would reflect in MV's Projects list.Setting up Multi pass for pocketing shaker doors
We are wanting to set our pocketing tool up as a multipass tool to mainly improve the quality of the surface when straight off the CNC. The idea is to do the main pocket and then have a second pass to remove 0.5mm to clean the board with a 5mm offset We thought we had the tool file correct but are unable to get it to assign the multipass tool when processing the doorsArdis grain errors
Has anyone had issues with Microvellum not sending Ardis all the grain information? I have found that grain info is missing on drawer sides. The front and back are fine but no grain direction on the sides so we have to find the sides and set the grain or we get cross grain drawer box sides. Got any ideas?LINE BORE

A designer wants a certain pull in various sizes throughout a kitchen. I am very new to MV and I am becoming stumped on adding these as a hardware item and it showing up in drawings and machining. I have copied other hardware pulls and changed the dimensions to the ones I need but I am not getting anything. As soon as I change the hardware to a stock MV pull it shows up fine. When creating new hardware, do you have to physically draw it in AUTOCAD and add 2d, 3d, and machine tokens? See images below,New layer color from spreasheet
Is there a way to set a new layer color from the spreadsheet with the new updates? In the previous version, we just had to add *150 to the layer name in the layer box to create a new layer with the desired color. Ex. We have recently switched our labels to a 4x1 Roll Feed. We want to be able to print the labels ahead of time for the shop, so when they are cutting on the saw, they can easily have the labels ready to put on the parts. However, it would make it easier for them to have the labels separated by CutList numbers (CPOUTName). So we would like to be able to print all the labels while printing 2 blank labels in between the CutList numbers so it is easier for them to find where the CutList starts and ends.Export Project Sharing Violation
We're currently running OEM v20.1.617, lib 46.2 mm. I regularly export & delete my library dev project from the production server so I can import the latest revisions from the Sandbox. The last three times I've done this my first Export & Delete attempt throws up an error window re: a Sharing Violation as if the project or drawing were in use. I had been in it about 30 minutes before but I not only closed the project, I loaded the Lib Dev database and was exporting the Sandbox version of the thatAdd Handling Code field to Work Order database

When we have perfect graining turned on and have the "Split Double Width Cabinets" click on to help save material in the optimization, the single drawer with 2 doors stays grained matched, but our sink cabinet with 2 doors 1 false front gets broken apart and doesn't grain match anymore. If we unclick "Split Double Width Cabinets", the sink cabinet parts stay grain matched, but our optimization isn't as good. I would think if the single drawer 2 door cabinet stays grain matched, so would the sinksending and saving file as .dxf

I was working for 7 years in a company using microvellum and the last 2 years I bought my own license to work at home for the same company. During the 2 years I import and export a lot of projects, submittal for hospitals, schools, commercials case work, red line, 3d in AutoCAD and using solid analyzer for receptions, etc. and I never, never get any problem. When setting up a bank of drawers with perfect grain in say a bank of 4 drawers, #1 drawer is in #2 position, #3 & #4 are perfect.MV product layer colours
Does anyone know how to change the colours & line types of MV products in the 3D view? eg: doors, shelves etc... I know how to do it in each room with AutoCAD layers. But I want to customise the products and save them back with those line types and colours, so they draw in as such on every new project/room. Does anyone know how to do this? When Microvellum generates the ptx file for Cutrite it brings in the required information to process the job. I want to know if I am the only one with the following issue or not. We print labels that contain all the information we need for the part including the width and length. On grained material we use width and length to determine how the grain runs. We start with the sheet 4' x 8' this tells us the grain runs along the 8' length. If I see a label that says 12 x 36 I know that the grain runshow to show tool tip and single click button selection in control panel?
My microvellum control panel does not show tool tips when hovering over a button . Also some thing has changed , or I mistakenly changed it , but now I have to double click the buttons to select a action like product prompts. I seem to remember it was a single click before .New Zealand Specific

How do you undock the tool box. I have been using the toolbox on the right hand side. It has recently moved itself to the left . Came in this morning and it kicked me out of the library I was using over the weekend some how. Now the toolbox is on the left . I right click on the shaded microvellum section above the tool box and it says allow docking but its not clickable. I cannot make the tool box wider or narrow either. Currently, we submit all of our Millwork Shop Drawings on 8 1/2 x 11, which has work for us for years and still does. I'm in the process of revamping our submittal process and now that almost everything we submit is entirely digital, I'd like to set up for 11 x 17. The problem is that my production paperwork is set up for, and prefers, 8 1/2 x 11. I'm sure there's a way to do all of our Shop Drawings at 11 x 17, and be able to easily print these out at 8 1/2 x 11 for our Production Sets, but notEQ formulas change to hard numbers
I've noticed that the origins of parts driven from EQ formulas change to a hard number when accessing the Origin + Rotation tab of The Part Properties of a product. For example, when I go to the Origin + Rotation tab of a Nailer, the Z origin of the part changes to the hard number of "0". I can see the EQ2 formula flash briefly in the cell, but it quickly flashes to a 0.Batch wise Manufacturing reports

One of the nice, new features of this upgrade was supposed to be faster times for loading and saving drawings. I have experienced just the opposite. I'm talking around 10 times slower for both. Is anyone else experiencing this, or is it just my copy?Anybody had success outsourcing Submittals?
I have seen a few plugs for outsourced MV drawing services. Send Toolfile, Library, Template, etc receive back drawings that look like yours! Products ready to process! I'm a realist though and it sounds too easy. We can see a possibility of needing to outsource a few drawings soon, and would be interested in giving this method a shot. I would like the option or the ability to opt out of having OverDrive Pro. Why? Because some users constantly try and rely on it for everything rather than use edit product data or part properties. When you open part properties & select a piece, then an edge and click "show this edge" it highlights said edge in red on your 3D product. However this doesn't work sometimes most of the time. You have to close part properties, redraw the product, & even change the angle you're looking at it from sometimes then try again. Sometimes this doesn't even work, we find ourselves often closing down MV completely, reopening it, loading the project & the room again, just to get the function working properly.Next Page
